Descomplica is a next-generation online education company in Brazil.


Zenflow is an operator of a urologic proprietary implant to treat the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Presidio Medical

Presidio Medical is a medical technology company developing a novel neurostimulation therapy to target chronic pain and other potential applications.

The above represents investments carried out in operating companies or dedicated co-investment vehicles in the current calendar year and the last two full calendar years where the investment size was greater than $10M and/or investments where we invested more than $10M in a follow-on financing in such an entity over the same time period. Sacha Lainovic, Managing Director

Prior to co-founding Invus Opps, Sacha was a co-founder and the Executive Vice President of the Invus Group from 1985-2006. Prior to Invus, Sacha was a manager at The Boston Consulting Group in Paris. Sacha holds an M.S. from INSA de Lyon and an MBA from Stanford University. He serves on the Boards of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Hospital for Special Surgery and is a member of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Advisory Council.

Bryan Kim, Partner

Bryan joined Invus Opps in 2011 after seven years on the private equity team at the Invus Group. Prior to joining Invus, Bryan was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in New York. Bryan graduated with an AB from Harvard University.

Benjamin Tsai, Partner

Ben joined Invus Opps in 2008. Prior to joining Invus Opps, Ben was a case team leader at the Monitor Group, where he provided strategic advice to the management teams of companies in North America, Europe and Asia. Ben holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS from the University of Southern California, where he was a Trustee Scholar.

David Kahane, Partner

David joined Invus Opps in 2013. Previously, David worked as a VP at Valor Capital Group, an Associate at the European practice of Monitor Clipper Partners, and as a consultant at the Monitor Group. David holds an MBA from the Wharton School where he was a Chrysler Foundation Fellow and BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.

Julian Chernyk, Senior Associate

Julian joined Invus Opps in 2019. Prior to joining Invus Opps, Julian worked at the Boston Consulting Group and S’well. Julian graduated with a BA from Yale University.

Gokul Mukunda, Associate

Gokul is an associate at Invus Opps, which he joined in 2021. Prior to joining Invus Opps, Gokul was a management consulting with McKinsey & Company. Gokul graduated magna cum laude from Princeton with an AB in Political Economy and certificate in Computer Science.

Carmen Taton, CFO

Prior to joining Invus Opps, Carmen had eight years of experience in hedge funds, including Nexar Capital and Millgate Capital, as well as experience as a management consultant at Stern Stewart. Carmen has an MBA from Columbia Business School and BS from NYU Stern.

Rachel Merluza, Director of Finance

Rachel is the Director of Finance at Invus Opps and joined with over 16 years of experience working across a variety of Fund Administration departments. Prior to joining in 2021, Rachel was an Associate Director at SS&C Technologies and before that worked at HSBC Securities Services. Rachel earned a B.A. from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN with a double major in Business and Spanish and a minor in Economics.
