The Invus team has a background in strategy, operations and consulting. But the most important common denominator across the team is our passion for business.

One of the major benefits of our evergreen fund structure is that we don’t need to raise new funds and manage investor relations across multiple funds. This frees up significant amount of our team’s time, allowing us to focus on our mission empowering entrepreneurs and executives to transform their industries.

Our relationship with owner-managers is not confined to formal board meetings. We enjoy an open dialogue with our owner-managers and frequently interact with them as they seek our advice on issues facing their businesses. This allows them to move rapidly without red tape. On select strategic projects, owner-managers can also call on us, where we can deploy one or more of our team members to be part of a project–specific task force to more deeply assist management with a new initiative or acquisition.

Raymond Debbane, President and CEO

Prior to forming Invus in 1985, Ray was a manager for The Boston Consulting Group in Paris. He holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, an MS in Food Science and Technology from the University of California, Davis and a BS in Agricultural Sciences and Agricultural Engineering from the American University of Beirut. He is currently the President of Action Against Hunger — USA and a Trustee of Connecticut College.

Christopher Sobecki, Managing Director, Private Equity, New York

Chris is a Managing Director based in the New York office. He joined Invus in 1989. Prior to joining Invus, Chris worked as an engineer for the Eastman Kodak Company. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School. He also holds a BS in engineering from Purdue University.

Philippe Amouyal, Managing Director, Private Equity, Boston

Philippe joined Invus in 1999 as a Managing Director. He is based in Boston. Prior to joining Invus, Philippe spent 15 years at The Boston Consulting Group in Paris and Boston, where he was a Vice President and Director and led the global electronics and software practice from 1991 on. He holds an MS in engineering and a DEA in management from Ecole Centrale de Paris and was a Research Fellow at the Center for Policy Alternatives of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Jonas Fajgenbaum, Managing Director, Private Equity, New York

Jonas is a Managing Director based in the New York office and focuses on private equity investments. He joined Invus in 1996. Prior to joining Invus, Jonas was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in New York, where he worked with clients in a wide range of industries including consumer products, healthcare, oil and gas, and financial services. Jonas graduated with a BS from The Wharton School and a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Aflalo Guimarães, Managing Director, Private Equity, New York

Aflalo is a Managing Director based in the New York office and focuses on investments in private companies. He joined Invus in 1998. Prior to joining Invus, Aflalo was at Marakon Associates where as a manager he led strategic consulting engagements for large multinational companies in a wide range of industries including financial services, retail and consumer products. Previously he worked at the Federal Reserve. He holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s The Wharton School and a BA in Economics and Political Science from Yale University.

Evren Bilimer, Managing Director, Private Equity, New York

Evren is a Managing Director based in the New York office and focuses on investments in private companies. He joined Invus in 2002. Prior to joining Invus, Evren was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in New York, where he worked with clients in a wide range of industries including financial services, media and entertainment and retail. Previously, he worked at Procter & Gamble and Sakura Bank. Evren graduated from Yale University double majoring in Electrical Engineering and Economics.

Benjamin Felt, Senior Associate, Private Equity, New York

Ben is a Senior Associate based in the New York office. He joined Invus in 2009. Prior to joining Invus, Ben was a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in Chicago, where he worked with clients in a wide range of industries including consumer products, industrial goods, and financial services. Ben graduated with a BA in Economics from Yale University.

Justin Barstein, Associate, Private Equity, New York

Justin is an Associate based in the New York office and focuses on investments in private companies. Prior to joining Invus in 2011, Justin was a management consultant at Bain & Company in Dallas, where he worked on a wide range of industries including industrials, media, technology, airlines, and consumer products. Justin graduated with a BA in Finance and Economics from Washington University in St. Louis.

Francis Cukierman, Managing Director, Private Equity, Europe

Francis is a Managing Director based in the Paris office and focuses on investments in private companies. He joined Invus in 1993. Prior to joining Invus he was a partner at The Boston Consulting Group in Paris. In his 10 years at BCG he worked with clients in a wide range of industries including consumer goods, food and non-food retail, oil industry and technology. He graduated from Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées and has an MBA from INSEAD.

Luc Ta-Ngoc, Managing Director, Private Equity, Europe

Luc is a Managing Director based in the Paris office and focuses on investments in private companies. He joined Invus in 1999. Prior to joining Invus, Luc was a manager at The Boston Consulting Group, in Paris and New York, where he worked with clients in a wide range of industries including consumer goods, food and non-food retail (hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience stores, department stores, specialty retail), building materials and pharmaceuticals. He graduated from Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC) in Paris.

Wassim Sacre, Director, Private Equity, Europe

Wassim is a Director based in the Paris office and focuses on private equity investments. He joined Invus in 2006. Prior to joining Invus, Wassim was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in Paris. Previously he was a management consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton in Paris and the Middle East, where he worked with clients in a variety of industries including telecommunications, media, energy and utilities. Wassim holds an MBA from INSEAD. He is also a graduate of the University of Saint Joseph in Lebanon majoring in Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering and of ESSEC Business School in Paris.

Mario Kaloustian, Director, Private Equity, Europe

Mario is a Director based in the Paris office and focuses on investments in private companies. He joined Invus in 2008. Prior to joining Invus, Mario was Principal at Greenwich Consulting in Paris, a strategy and management consultancy focused on telecoms and media, where he led strategic consulting engagements for major European companies. Previously he was a management consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton. He graduated from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications and has an MBA from INSEAD.

Benedetto Staccia, Associate, Private Equity, Europe

Ben is an Associate based in the Paris office and focuses on investments in private companies. He joined Invus in 2008. Previously, Ben was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company in Italy, where he worked with clients in a wide range of industries including telecommunications, energy, technology, and financial services. Ben received an MBA from Harvard Business School and also holds an MS in Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and from Ecole Centrale de Paris.

Barrage Khalil, Managing Director, Public Equity, New York

Khalil is a Managing Director based in the New York office and is in charge of the public equity group, which he set up in September 2003. Prior to joining Invus, Khalil was a portfolio manager with The Olayan Group, New York in charge of its US equity group. Khalil follows
a value discipline in selecting securities focusing on out of favor stocks that are trading below their intrinsic value. Khalil holds a BA from American University of Beirut. He is a board member of the Children of Armenia Fund.

Janet Lee, Principal, Public Equities, New York

Janet is a Principal in the Public Equities group and focuses on healthcare investments. Prior to joining Invus in 2009, Janet worked on healthcare public equity investments at Origin Capital Management, a healthcare-focused hedge fund. Previously, Janet was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where she worked with financial services clients in Asia and the U.S. on growth strategy, M&A, and risk management. Janet graduated from Yale University.

Katie Whitman, Associate, Public Equities, New York

Katie is an Associate based in New York and focuses primarily on healthcare investments. Prior to joining Invus, she was an Analyst in Credit Suisse's Healthcare Investment Banking Group, where she worked with a variety of clients in the healthcare services sub-sector. Katie graduated from Columbia University with a BA in Economics and Mathematics.

H. Eric Chiang, Managing Director, Invus Asia, Hong Kong

Eric is a Managing Director of Invus Asia, a subsidiary of The Invus Group. Based in Hong Kong, Eric focuses on public equities investing in Greater China as well as other Asian markets. He joined Invus in 2003, when the public-equities team was just established. Prior to joining Invus, he was with Sanford C. Bernstein, a subsidiary of AllianceBernstein, where he was a member of the II-ranked #1 team covering the US technology hardware sector. Before that, Eric worked at JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs. Eric earned MBA (distinction) and MIA from Columbia University and BSE in Computer Engineering from The University of Michigan. Eric is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).

Addy Ho, Associate, Invus Asia, Hong Kong

Addy is an Associate based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Invus in 2010, Addy was a management consultant at The Boston Consulting Group in Hong Kong, where she worked with clients in a wide range of industries including financial services, consumer products and telecommunications. Addy graduated with a BA and MEng in Manufacturing Engineering from Cambridge University.

Chris Jiang, Associate, Invus Asia, Hong Kong

Chris is an Associate based in Hong Kong. Prior to joining Invus Asia in 2011, Chris was an Associate in the Investment Banking Division at J.P. Morgan, where he worked with clients from different industries, including transportations, telecommunications, media and consumer. He has worked on a variety of transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, restructuring and capital raising. Chris holds a BA in Mathematics and Economics from Connecticut College.

Julien Sallmard, Principal, Public Equities, Europe

Julien is a Principal based in Paris and is responsible for the public equity investing in Europe. Prior to joining Invus in 2009, Julien was a portfolio manager with JP Morgan in their proprietary trading division, where he focused on investments in the consumer sectors in Europe (retail, food and beverages, luxury goods, tobacco, media). Previously, Julien worked in the risk arbitrage team at JP Morgan after graduating from their investment banking program. Julien holds a BA from Essec Business School in Paris.

Julien Miara, Analyst, Public Equities, Europe

Julien is an Analyst at Invus. He joined Invus in 2010. Previously, Julien has had different internship experiences in Investment Banking at BNP Paribas in Paris and Société Générale in New-York, as well as in Management Consulting. Julien received his Master of Management from EDHEC Business School in Lille (France) in 2009.

Robert Mikesell, Associate, Public Equities, New York

Robert is the trader for the Public Equity Group in New York. He joined Invus in September 2003. Prior to joining Invus, Robert was a trader for Credit Suisse First Boston in their Capital Markets Group focusing on corporate buybacks, tenders, VC distributions, and derivatives. Robert graduated from Franklin & Marshall College where he majored in Economics and minored in Business.

Sacha Lainovic, Managing Director, Invus Financial Advisors, New York

Prior to co-founding IFA, Sacha was a co-founder and the Executive Vice President of The Invus Group from 1985-2006. Prior to Invus, Sacha was a manager at The Boston Consulting Group in Paris. He holds an M.S. in engineering from INSA de Lyon and received an MBA from Stanford University. Sacha currently serves on the board of The Ronald McDonald House of New York and is a Trustee of the Convent of the Sacred Heart in New York City.

Leslie Lake, Managing Director, Invus Financial Advisors, New York

Prior to co-founding IFA, Leslie was a Managing Director with The Invus Group where she managed the fund of hedge funds business from 1995 to 2006. She was responsible for sourcing, researching and allocating assets across geographies, sectors and disciplines with the sole objective of generating strong absolute positive rates of return. Previously, Leslie was an Executive Vice President & Managing Director of Cofinam, Incorporated, the family office of the Charles Feeney Family, founder of Duty Free Stores, where she became primarily responsible for the development and implementation of the liquid asset investment strategy between 1990 and 1995. Leslie also served as the Portfolio Manager to the Mitchell Kapor Family, founder of Lotus, between 1993 and 1998. Leslie began her career as an analyst with Joseph P. Kennedy Enterprises, the family office consortium of the Kennedy's, Shrivers and Lawfords. Leslie holds a BA in Economics from Simmons College.

Gretchen Piller, Managing Director, Invus Financial Advisors, New York

Ms. Piller is a Managing Director of IFA. Before joining IFA, she spent seven years as Director of Research for The Torrey Funds, a fund of funds boutique. In this role she was intimately involved in the research and due diligence process with regard to sourcing, selecting, and overseeing hedge fund investments. Her responsibilities included portfolio strategy, portfolio construction, product development, risk management, designing and delivering presentations, and interacting with existing and prospective clients on issues involving performance, portfolio positioning, strategy, and risk. Prior to Torrey, Ms. Piller spent nearly thirteen years on the buy-side: seven years working in the international fixed income arena at The Putnam Companies and five and a half years working at Croesus Capital Management, an emerging market focused hedge fund based in New York. At both firms, she fulfilled the roles of analyst, trader, and portfolio manager in fixed income, equities, currencies, and commodities. Ms. Piller received her BA in Mathematics with a concentration in Computer Science from Mount Holyoke College and her MBA from Boston University, a program she completed while working full time.

Bryan Kim, Partner, Invus Financial Advisors, New York

Bryan joined IFA as a Partner in 2011 after seven years on the private equity team at the Invus Group in New York. Prior to Invus, Bryan was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in New York, where he worked with clients in a wide range of industries including financial services, media, technology, pharmaceuticals and education. Bryan graduated with an AB in Computer Science from Harvard University.

Benjamin Tsai, Partner, Invus Financial Advisors, New York

Ben is a Partner at IFA, which he joined in 2008. Prior to joining IFA, Ben was a case team leader at the Monitor Group, where he led strategy consulting projects in North America, Asia and Europe for clients from a wide range of industries. He has also worked at the Bellwether Group, a Los Angeles-based merchant bank. Ben received an MBA from Harvard Business School. He also holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Vijay Mayadas, Partner, Invus Financial Advisors, New York

Vijay is a Partner at IFA, which he joined in 2011. Prior to joining IFA, Vijay was a Principal at the Boston Consulting Group in New York where he led projects across a broad range of industries including technology, media, telecommunications, financial services and private equity. Prior to BCG Vijay co-founded and sold a software company and worked as a software engineer in the financial services industry. Vijay has an MBA from The Wharton School, where he was a recipient of the Sol Snider Seed Award for Entrepreneurship, and an MA and BA in Physics from Oxford University.

Eitan Hochster, Analyst, Invus Financial Advisors, New York

Eitan is an Analyst at IFA. He joined IFA in 2008. Previously, Eitan was a summer intern at IFA, and he also has experience in journalism and photojournalism. Eitan received his BA from Washington University in St. Louis, with a dual-major in Economics and History, and a Minor in Photography.

QuestMark Partners

Invus has been a general partner and the largest investor in QuestMark Partners, a late-stage venture capital firm based in Baltimore, Maryland, since its founding in 1998. QuestMark has over $750 million under management across 3 funds. The fund looks to invest in $5 – 15 million in emerging growth companies with exceptional management teams and proven products and services. Areas of focus include software, medical devices, and internet based businesses, as well as, enterprises in broader technology, healthcare and consumer areas.

TMG Capital

TMG Capital was founded in 1997 in Sao Paolo, Brazil by seasoned executives to make equity investments in Brazil. Invus has partnered with TMG since its inception and is the largest investor in TMG's second fund, which it is currently investing out of. With its successful investment track record, TMG seeks investments that leverage Brazil's economic development and inherent competitive advantages in areas where TMG can add value through strategic insights and its collaborative relationship with management. As a result of our long-term strategic partnership with TMG, IFA is a co-general partner of the TMG funds and IFA's team works closely with the TMG team.
